New To Kiokee?

Whether you are checking us out for the first time or have been coming for weeks, this page is a small snapshot of our church.

Located in Appling, GA, Kiokee exists to declare God’s greatness as He transforms lives by loving and reaching people and making disciples of Jesus. This is our hope, our prayer, and our mission. This is who we are. Read more about our core values, our beliefs, and our staff.

We are four miles north of Exit 183 off of Interstate 20, and we’re passionate about reaching our community with the love and message of Jesus. Whether you’re in Augusta or Grovetown or Lincolnton or Aiken, SC.. whether you are a lifetime follower of Christ or seeking answers.. you are welcome here.

What to Expect When You Visit

We care about you, not what you’re wearing. We’re a church full of imperfect people, with every kind of story, who aim to love Jesus wholeheartedly and serve our others together.

If you’ve never been and are considering it this Sunday, here’s what you can expect…

Kind people. We love it when someone comes for the first time. Making sure you feel welcome is very important to us, so please feel free to say, “This is my first time” and we’ll guide you through Sunday at Kiokee!

A casual atmosphere. We care about you, not what you’re wearing, so don’t feel like you have to be in a dress or suit to visit Kiokee. We have all kinds of folks and styles, and we want you to be comfortable. Visit our Welcome Center located just outside the Sanctuary if you have questions about any part of our church. We will certainly not single you out publicly or ask you to say anything, and we do not expect guests to contribute anything financially.

A fun, safe environment for kids. Kids love it at Kiokee! If you bring your kids, you’ll check them in and out each Sunday in Building A or the bottom level of Building B using a special labeling system. Babies and toddlers are cared for by loving volunteers. There are multiple Preschool rooms and Children’s Worship for grades one through three, and Sweetwater Acres for ages 4 and 5.  All of our Children’s Ministry volunteers must pass background checks and have a heart for kids and families.

Worship at Kiokee has two primary objectives: to lead our congregation in declaring God’s greatness through corporate worship, and to encourage and equip music ministry members to live as disciples of Jesus. We believe God uses all of these aspects of worship to reveal His greatness and to make us more like Him.  While we strive to include them consistently, we do not feel that they limit us to a particular style or order of worship. Different personnel lead our two worship services – choir and orchestra at 8:45, worship band at 11:00 – but you may encounter “traditional” or “contemporary” elements in either service.  We hope and pray that this frees us from predetermined expectations, allowing us to offer genuine, heartfelt worship to our great God.

Biblically sound teaching that connects the words of the Bible to everyday life.

Everyone belongs – every color, personality, shape, background, struggle, and life. We trust the Bible completely even when we don’t understand it and spend time studying it. We value growth in God’s Kingdom and invest in evangelism efforts locally, nationally, and globally. We do everything for the name and glory of Jesus Christ!

If you have any specific questions, email jeff@kiokee.org or call us at 706-541.1086. We hope to meet you this Sunday!
