New To Kiokee?
Located in Appling, GA, we are about declaring God’s greatness as He transforms lives by loving and reaching people and making disciples of Jesus.
This is our hope and our mission. This is who we are.
Whether you are a lifetime follower of Christ or seeking answers…you are welcome here.
Sundays and Wednesdays
On Sunday mornings, we have two services, 8:30am and 11:00am, with Discipling Groups at 9:45am. Find the right Group for you.
From August-May, Wednesday night at Kiokee includes a fellowship meal at 5:00pm, and 6:30-7:30pm includes children’s activities, Student Midweek, and adult Discipling Groups.
What to Expect When You Visit
You matter, and your story matters. We’re a church full of imperfect people, with every kind of story, who aim to love Jesus wholeheartedly and serve others together.
If you are considering Kiokee this Sunday, here’s what you can expect…
Kind people. We love it when someone comes for the first time. Making sure you feel welcome is very important to us, so please feel free to say, “This is my first time” and we’ll guide you through Sunday!
A friendly atmosphere. We care about you, not what you’re wearing, so don’t feel like you have to be in a dress or suit to visit Kiokee. We want to connect you to Jesus and a community, so please come as you are. Visit our Welcome Center located just outside the Sanctuary if you have questions about any part of our church.
An energetic, safe environment for kids. Kids love it at Kiokee! If you bring your kids, you’ll check them in and out each Sunday in Building A or the bottom level of Building B using a special labeling system. Babies and toddlers are cared for by loving volunteers. There are multiple Preschool rooms (ages birth- 24 months) and Children’s Worship for 4 Year Old through 2nd Grade. All of our Children’s Ministry volunteers must pass background checks and have a heart for kids and families. We are passionate about teaching your children about the Bible and person of Jesus Christ.
Worship at Kiokee has two primary objectives: to lead our congregation in declaring God’s greatness through corporate worship, and to encourage and equip music ministry members to live as disciples of Jesus. We believe God uses all of these aspects of worship to reveal His greatness and to make us more like Him. Different personnel lead our worship services – but you may encounter “traditional” or “contemporary” elements in either service. We hope and pray that this frees us from predetermined expectations, allowing us to offer genuine, heartfelt worship to our great God.
Biblically sound teaching that connects the words of the Bible to everyday life.
Everyone belongs – every color, personality, shape, background, struggle, and life. We trust the Bible completely even when we don’t understand it and spend time studying it. We value growth in God’s Kingdom and invest in evangelism efforts locally, nationally, and globally. We do everything for the name and glory of Jesus Christ!

Our church affiliation is a part of the Southern Baptist Convention (nationally) and the Georgia Baptist Convention (state).
In essential beliefs, we have unity.
There is only one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. (Ephesians 4:4-6)
In non-essential beliefs, we practice liberty.
Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves. (Romans 14:1, 4, 12, & 22)
In all things, we practice charity.
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:2)
OUR ESSENTIAL BELIEFS
About God…
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities:
- Father
- Son
- Holy Spirit
The three are co-equal and are one God.
About Jesus Christ…
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is one with the Father. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life, and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sin by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.
About The Holy Spirit…
The Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Son. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer a spiritual gift, or gifts, when they are saved. As Christians, we seek to live under his guidance daily.
About the Bible…
The Bible is God’s word to us. Human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, wrote it. It is the supreme source of Truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error.
About Human Beings…
People are created in the image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by sin that separates us from God and causes many problems in life.
About Salvation…
Salvation is God’s free gift to us. It must, however, be accepted. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by surrender to Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness, can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life with God begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
About Eternal Security…
Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the true believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot lose it. Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian. It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives us this security.
About Eternity…
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are real places of existence.
