Discipleship is a topic that can sometimes get thrown into the pit of ‘those churchy words.’
We want to clear it up, because we’re passionate about you knowing God personally, worshipping Him wholeheartedly, and loving others as yourself. According to Merriam-Webster, the definition of ‘disciple’ is a person who accepts and helps to spread the teachings of another. As Christians, that ‘another’ is Jesus Christ. Taking it another step further, here at Kiokee, taken from Matthew 4:19, a disciple is someone who is following Jesus, being changed by Jesus, and committed to the mission of Jesus.
How do we practically become disciples of Jesus?
With our minds, we get to know God through the study of His Word.
God has revealed Himself in a clear, profound, beautiful way in the Bible. And it’s more challenging to love someone you don’t know, wouldn’t you agree? Because we believe this, we offer Sunday School Classes, K-Groups, Small Groups, and LIFE Classes to help followers of Jesus learn more about the Bible.
With our hearts, we offer love and praise to God through worship.
The Bible stresses the importance of the church to gather for corporate worship. Choose a service, 9:15 or 10:30, and declare the greatness of your God!
With our hands, we offer our time, talents, and gifts to the Lord through service in ministry.
Growth in our relationship with Jesus happens as we spend time working out the truth we’re learning by serving in ministry. Seek out a place here at Kiokee or in your community where you can serve with your God-given abilities for others’ good and for His glory!
